The temple in German!!
Howdy howdy!
This week has been crazy but also so good! We found out last week about the Russian and Ukraine war and so all of the missionaries had to go out and get a 5 day emergency kit. In case anything happens or if the power goes out. Since I Russia is in Charge of 40% of Germany's power. We also found out that a lot of members from Ukraine and coming to Germany. In fact the Stake President from Kiev is staying in our Feucht apartment. So we had to quickly clean up everything and move all of my stuff out so they can move in. So rip to the nice apartment, it will be missed....
We had 2 amazing Austausches with the STL's from Würzburg! They're are so sweet and I learned a lot about how I can improve my teaching and be involved in lessons even though I'm quiet. We had crazy bad luck with trains and got there super late due to us missing our train. On the way back we also almost missed the train, but we arrived just in time.
We've also made 2 new friends this week! One we contacted on the Zug and the other Sister Wallgren actually taught him last year. She ran into him again on the streets and we set up a lesson with him. The spirit might have to work on both of them but we are hoping that their hearts will be open and they will be willing to learn and change.
I learned this week a very valuable lesson that I will keep with me for my whole week. Last week I was dealing a lot with comparison and doubting if I was a good missionary because I was so quiet. During my personal study I wrote down all the qualities that missionaries have said about me and studying scriptures about those qualities. As I was doing that, I kept getting this thought of "why wouldn't I need someone like you." It was really comforting and I knew that God needed me and my strengths. After talking with my mission president's wife and my family, I know that I'm needed here for me. Someone here needs me for the quiet but certain qualities that I have. I don't need to change who I am, the mission isn't supposed to mold me into a new person but to perfect and sharpen the qualities that I already have. I've been told by my companion that whenever I talk to people they stop and listen because there's a quiet, meek, and confident way about me. So if you doubt your abilities or don't think you could be like someone else, remember that the lord created you to be who you are. So don't try to be like them, just be you. Because I bet you 10 to 1 that you have qualities that they would want.
Another fun thing is that we went to the temple today!! We got up early and headed to Frankfurt. We went as a district and I was surprised by how many other missionaries were there. Going through the temple in German was really special. I was actually surprised by how much I understood. It was really fun and I really enjoyed being able to go to the temple and just feel peace.
I hope you all have a great week and remember that God loves you. The world is in commotion but he has Provided a way for his children. I'm so thankful that I get to represent him everyday. I love you all!
