Hallo Alle! This week has felt very long haha. A lot of our appointments fell through (7 to be exact) and the days felt like molasses, but it's okay because we finally made it another week! Thankfully we've also had some good experiences this week.  We received a book of Mormon referral. Which means that someone ordered a free book of Mormon on FindeChristus and we went and delivered it. In my past experiences with it, usually the person isn't home or they don't want the book anymore or they take it and don't let us explain anything about it. This time Was different. A man came to the door and we were able to give him the book, ask how he found the Website, and explained a little bit about it. His wife invited us inside and we were able to meet their 3 little boys. We explained more about the book and ended up giving the whole 1st lesson!! The husband was really interested and has looked up a lot about the book of Mormon. We're excited to hear about everything...

Check your speed

This week has been full of "check your speed" and "aggressive driving" haha. This little area is starting to grow on me. I've gotten to meet amazing people so far. A lot of the members here have struggled with divorce which has been really sad to see. I want to help, but I never know what to say since it's such a hard topic.  My favorite thing has been going out on the street and talking to people. We've made it a goal to go contacting everyday for at least 30 minutes. I'm surprised by how nice people are here. There is only one main street in Euskirchen and surprisingly quite a few people walk up and down it. The people are also so nice. We've had some great conversations with people. We ran into this one man who's from Egypt and has been in Germany for only about 2 months. He doesn't speak German or English very well so talking with him is a bit of a struggle. But he used to be muslim but didn't like how strict the religion was an...

Euskirchen? Training?

Moin! Transfers happened this week and I was sent back up north to Euskirchen. It's a tiny town with even smaller villages surrounding it. It's near Bonn and Köln. Honestly when I heard that I was going to be so close to Köln again I got nervous and all of the PTSD came back haha. But it's alright, we learned and grew in that area. It's a driving area and I'm so glad that I'm not allowed to drive here because I don't think I would be coming home haha. Also instead of tiwi always telling us to check our speed, she would tell me to speed up.  I'm ending sister Werner's training. I'm excited to train again, but I'm nervous I forgot how haha. Good thing sister Werner is already a profi and will be retraining me this transfer haha. Its fun to see how much I've learned and grown over the past 6 months since the last time that I trained. My German skills are definitely better than back then and that will be my focus this transfer.  They just o...

"Are we under attack?"

Happy New year!!  New years and Christmas seem like an eternity ago. They both seem like a blur and I can't wrap my head around that it was only last week. Germany definitely celebrates new years better than the US. They have a lot of fun traditions. For dinner They usually have Raclette or Fondue. I've wanted to do Fondue for forever and I finally was able to! The Version I was able to do was a Chinese Fondue. Which meant that you have lots of vegetables in a pot of broth and you still skewered pieces of meat inside as well. Then you put it on rice. It was yummy and really fun! We then played headbands and i realized that i dont know anything about german history. At this appointment, we were in charge of bringing a dessert with not very much sugar. We tried some concoctions of Muffins, but since we didn't have a recipe the texture didn't come out quite right. We only had 30 minutes before the appointment and couldn't go to the store since it was closed. We decid...
