Check your speed

This week has been full of "check your speed" and "aggressive driving" haha. This little area is starting to grow on me. I've gotten to meet amazing people so far. A lot of the members here have struggled with divorce which has been really sad to see. I want to help, but I never know what to say since it's such a hard topic.

My favorite thing has been going out on the street and talking to people. We've made it a goal to go contacting everyday for at least 30 minutes. I'm surprised by how nice people are here. There is only one main street in Euskirchen and surprisingly quite a few people walk up and down it. The people are also so nice. We've had some great conversations with people. We ran into this one man who's from Egypt and has been in Germany for only about 2 months. He doesn't speak German or English very well so talking with him is a bit of a struggle. But he used to be muslim but didn't like how strict the religion was and the thought of burning in hell for not being a strict believer. He has a lot of questions about who God is and how we can find him. We've met with him twice and have given him a book of Mormon. He's so sweet and so interested. Before we gave him the book of Mormon He asked if we could send him pages that he could read because he just couldn't wait. He's awesome and asks tons of deep, thought provoking questions. We also found a beautiful Bible in Arabic for him in our apartment which was also a miracle.
We also ran into a couple and we talked about the book of Mormon and the church with them. The wife kept asking the primary questions about what the biggest difference between our church and other churches was and the primary thing that we believe in. We were able to testify of the book of Mormon and the importance of it. They were able to hold it and flip through it and it was a powerful moment. Sadly, the husband wasn't too interested but I hope a seed was planned for both of them and the spirit will be able to work on them. The coolest thing is that they mentioned how they have been stopped by someone in every City that they've visited. They would be great members and I hope they will act and give us a call!
I have been studying virtue lately since I don't know a ton about it and it's been my goal to develop the attribute more in regards of changing my nature. I'm surprised how often it's mentioned in the scriptures. I love the talk from this past General conference that's titled The Virtue of the Word. It talks a lot about how powerful the Word of God is in the changing of other's lives. It also explains that we receive the virtue of Christ when we read in the book of Mormon. It made me think of the woman with the blood disease and how she was healed by touching the garment of Christ and the virtue that embraced her. We can receive that same healing power whenever we read in the book of Mormon! There's a power that comes through reading the words of God and through them we can find everlasting change and become whole.
There has been a ton of sweet moments this week and I can't wait for more. This work and this gospel is so good. I'm grateful for it everyday and the change it brings to me and those around me. I love you all so much!!
