100 days serving the Lord!

 Hallo zusammen!

This week Falko got baptized! The night before we went over to his house for a last lesson before he was baptized. His parents are very against his decision to be baptized. So that has been really hard for Falko, but he remained strong and held through! At his house, we met his dad. We wanted to know why baptism was so important to his son. We had brother Hadzik also there and he was able to answer all of his questions about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. There was such a sweet spirit there and I could tell the holy ghost was retestifying to Falko. Falko was able to bear his testimony to his father and tell him that he wanted to be baptized. It was a really spiritual uplifting night. It was also a night and day difference from the conversation brother Hadzik had with the father before we arrived. It was apparently really contentious. It wasn't until we arrived that the spirit was able to be in the home. I know it wasn't the work of sister Barden or I. There's just a power that comes from being set apart as a missionary.
The next day was the baptism and it was really special. Falko was a little late which gave us a scare. But after a prayer, we knew that he would show up. He came up out of the water smiling and he took a moment to stop and smile at the ward members who showed up to support him. During this time of teaching Falko, I have been so humbly grateful to the Lord. Sister Barden and I are both so new and it wasn't because of us that he got baptized. The Lord prepared Falko and he let me be apart of his journey. For that I'm so grateful.
On Friday, we had a Straße ausstellung. Which pretty much means we set up a stand and we're giving the ward members and us a chance to talk to people about Christ and the Book of Mormon. Only a few members showed up, but it was still a way cool experience. I tried my best to talk to people on my own and testify. My German was definitely iffy, but I know that my inadequacies aren't going to disrupt this work. The people who are ready will still be ready no matter how wrong my grammar is. That's been a huge comfort to me as I try my best to be an instrument of the Lord's hands.
This week, I traveled to Frankfurt with sister brown. We got to be companions again which was really fun! All the newcomers had their titel appointment. So I got to see all of the people I came in with. It was really fun to see how people are doing. It doesn't seem long at all that we were all together at the mtc. We are officially all legal residents in Germany! So I apologize if you hoped I would get kicked out. Looks like I will be here for another 14 1/2 months.
I have a few funny stories from the week. The first is after the Straße ausstellung we got a ride back to Feucht with a JAE (ysa) named Jonas and the elders. We got 5 Guys but had to run to our lesson with Falko. So we didn't have time to eat. Jonas sped the whole 15 minutes to get us to our lesson. The whole time listening to the tabernacle choir at temple Square and having elder duersch feed him fries. It was hilarious.
Germans are very blunt, they'll tell it straight to your face. This one lady told me "Ich habe Alergie auf dein Gesicht" ( I have an allergy to your face...). I've gotten a handful of insults in my life, but I've never received that one before. Good thing I have no pride so I didn't take any offense. This lady I was talking to on messenger asked what my name was because there's no way summer would be my real one. Looks like summer is not a common name here.
Hope you all are doing well! Have a great week and remember that the lord always prepares a way!
