Another Day in Paradise
This week started out with a great district council! Our district contains us, 2 sets of elders, and a senior couple that cook lunch for us every week. They're so sweet and our whole district is really tight. But our focus this week was on the talk The Challenging and Testifying Missionary. After reading that as a district we are now changing our approach with talking to people. We used to ask what brought them hope or joy, but now we're flat our testifying about our purpose. Now we tell people that we are servants of our Lord Jesus Christ and he has a message for them. We get rejected more, but it hurts less. I've found it's actually a lot easier to be straight up with people then beat around the Bush.
Then we had an Austauch with the STL's from Würzburg! They're so nice and we had a great time with them. I went with sister Webb and we met this man named Tobi that I found through Facebook. We taught him the 2nd lesson about the Plan of Salvation (the purpose of life and why God wants us to be happy) while we walked around a Lake. One thing Sister Webb taught me is that I don't have to change who I am. We're both a bit timid and Reserved, but I don't have to change that about me. She's such a good missionary and that's by remaining herself and not pretending to be someone else. That brought me a lot of peace. Sometimes I think I have to be super bubbly and outgoing, but that's not how God made me and that's okay. He needs me in Germany because of who I am.
We had an amazing lesson with this lady named shruti. She was a referral from the elders and was super excited to meet with us. We gave her a Book of Mormon and she said she would read it. She's excited about coming to church this Sunday too. She also invited both Sister Barden and I to a real Indian wedding when we get home. So it think it's safe to say that we hit it off pretty well.
God also works in very mysterious ways. We met this rather creepy man in the Bahnhof. We got a call from his girlfriend worried he was cheating on her. We explained to her that we are just missionaries and we talk to people about God. We are now meeting her tomorrow. I never imagine that we would find a friend through a creepy man that asks for missionaries numbers, but God has his ways.
I love you all so much and hope you're doing well! Gott liebt uns! Kämpfe den guten Kampf.
Liebe Grüße, Sister Nielsen:)
