And it feels like Summer
Happy Easter week family!!
I love Easter!! It's one of my favorite holidays! They celebrate Easter here by hanging easter eggs on their trees, which is pretty fun. In my studies I have been trying to follow Christ's last week. It's been pretty cool and has been making the week more personal. I've been reading in Jesus the Christ as well as the New Testament. I've also been asked to speak this Sunday in church and so I've been studying for that as well. I think the focus of my talk will be on Christ's Atonement as well as how grateful I am for his resurrection. I'll include my grandparents deaths but how I still know that they are with me because of Christ's Atonement. I hope I'm able to bring the spirit and it will help the ward. We're also having a friend come to church, his name is David. We're excited for that and this will be his first time coming to church so I hope my talk will be good.
This week we had interviews with President which are always good. I love being able to meet with them and always getting great counsel from them. We also had stake conference this week. The old stake President is becoming the new stake president so a new one was called. His son, who is the Elders Quorum President in the Feucht ward was called. He's super young, his youngest is 8 and just got baptized. But I'm excited for them and for all the amazing things that he'll do. We took a recent convert to stake conference. We is dealing with Lyme disease so we wheeled her around in her wheel chair. It was fun and I loved being able to serve her. She loves church and her face just lit up when we came and got her.
This week we did lots of street contacting since we don't have a lot of lessons every week. We decided to go to this part of town called Fürth which is super cute and still has old buildings all over. I've heard that they paid Hitler lots of money to not bomb their city so that's why it still has a lot of Jewish style houses. It was super pretty and we met some really cool people while we were there. We had lessons with some friends this week which are always good and I hope that they'll progress and gain a testimony.
This week it started out super rainy and rained a ton but now it's in the 70s and it feels like summer. I'm so excited for it to heat up and be warm all the time. I've never been so excited to get to wear a dress in 70 degree weather it was so fun. Kind of a funny story, but we went contacting in the City and we were walking around. I noticed these 2 guys, bur didn't think anything of them. We continue to try stopping people and then they came up from behind us and stuck out their hand for us to shake. The guy asked how we were and what we were doing. Then he introduces his friend and asked if we want to go on a spazieren (stroll/ walk) and get coffee. I'm the worst at saying no, so I just froze and said very hesitantly ok. Good thing I had Sister Olsen there because she just said no and led me away. We've now set up a plan that the next time that happens were just going to say we can't speak German in Japanese. Hopefully then they'll get the hint and won't want to talk to us. But we've been practicing our line and have been getting pretty good at it haha.
That's about all for this week! I hope you all enjoy Easter and remember our savior and the sacrifice he performed for us. I could never repay him for what he did for me, but I'm glad that I'm able to give a small percentage back to him. Eat lots of orange rolls, like I did today!!
