Conference and 6 months
Servus!!
Man I can't believe that I hit 6 months this past week. The time has gone so fast. I thought that when I hit this Mark that I would be able to speak German well and know what I was doing. That has definitely not been the case, my German has improved a lot and I'm able to talk to people now, but I still don't have a handle on everything. I have still so much to learn and I'm excited for how much more I will grow in the next year!
This week we had a great lesson with Alazar and his friend Joseph. We showed up and the first question that Jospeh asked Was how can I know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet and that the book of Mormon is true? Him and Alazar read the introduction together and had discussed it. We had a good discussion and helped answer their questions. Alazar wasn't really that interested because he couldn't accept the Book of Mormon over the Bible. It was frustrating and I didn't know how someone who loves God so much could have such a hardened heart. We shared 2 Nephi 29 and still his heart was Hardened and he didn't want to listen. His friend on the other hand was open to read and told us that he can't ignore the book because it talks all about Christ. He is reading the book of Mormon and trying to find answer to his questions. I love that he's so willing and has a desire to read and find out whether the book is true.
Conference is great as always and I'll be honest, I think this is the first time I've watched all the Sessions without falling asleep haha! But it was great to hear from our prophet and the wise counsel he gave us. I loved how much they talked about missionary work and how this gospel is the only way that we can help people through this crisis of war. I always love General Conference and I always get the chills because the spirit is so strong. One thing that really spoke to me during General Conference was the feeling that I'm here for a reason and my efforts, no matter how big or small they are that they are worth it and are valued. That's been really comforting to know that the lord is proud of every effort that I put into the work that I do. I hope you all were able to enjoy Conference and that the spirit spoke to you in some way!
I'm sorry this week is a bit on the short side but I hope you all have a great week and are getting excited for Easter!!
