There's a bird in the house !!

Alles Gute zum Vatertag!! Happy Father's day to all the dads out there! Yesterday was a holiday in Germany called ascension day. They celebrate Christ returning back to his father exactly 40 days after his resurrection. Over the years it's also turned into Father's day. But how they celebrate it in Germany is really weird. All the men will get together and push strollers around town, but instead of having a child they push around their beer. Typical Germany for you haha.  This week we had zone conference in Dortmund!! It was really fun being surrounded by tons of missionaries + being served AMAZING FOOD. I've been blessed to serve with incredible missionaries and they've all become great friends. We talked a lot about comparison and pride. Sadly there's a lot of comparison that happens on the mission because we want to have the same success as those around us. But comparison is the robber of joy. We are all a team and everyone's efforts are needed. Sometim...

Hallo zusammen!! This week has been wild with lots that have happened so I'm sorry if this is long! A lot of people have been asking me how Germany is with the war going on. There are a ton of Ukranian refugees here. We run into so many everyday. It's really sad to see so many people that have to leave their home. Right next to the Bahnhof we also have Tents set up to serve as a meeting place for all of the refugees. It feels like I'm serving on the front lines sometimes. I get to see the affects of the War personally.  On Saturday, we met with a weniger aktiv with the elders. He lives outside of Köln and it was so pretty. There were tons of green fields, groves of trees, and COWS!!! It felt a lot like home except with a lot more green and no sagebrush ahah. During this appointment, the member took us into a forest and it was so pretty. I forgot how much I missed being out in nature and surrounded by trees.  I've also heard that the middle of your mission is the longe...

You look like Mike Tyson

Happy late mother day to All of the amazing mothers!! This week we ran into one of our New members that we've been working with. We set up a super spontaneous meeting and I got to meet him. He's so nice and way cool. During the middle of our Quatsch session he turns to me and says "you look like Mike Tyson" So that was kind of weird. I guess my facial structure is super similar to his haha. Also another embarrassing Story is that we made banana bread and we're going to drop it off at less actives. We klingle this one lady and we get in but we have no idea which floor she lives on and there's only an elevator. So we go up a floor and check all the doors to find her name and then we get back into the elevator. On the 3rd floor there's this woman and she just kinds of looks at us while we search. We ask her if she knows where the woman were searching for lives and she says no. So right before we leave we ask what her name is and it's the Lady we've ...

Happy Cinco de Mayo!!  I hope you all are eating Mexican food to celebrate because we sure did. I was told that there wasn't going to be any Mexican Restaurants in Germany but there are a ton in Köln. So that's how we celebrated. This week felt like it was 2 years long. I am exhausted, but I'm hoping that this next week will go smoother. We were pretty busy which I don't know if that's the reason why I'm so tired. As a mission we have a challenge to speak only German from 9-9 and my brain is dead after one week. I didn't realize how much out of you it takes to speak a new language all the time. We had a good amount of lessons set up and we had to travel to Frankfurt to get Sister Maughan's Ausweis. The trains were really bad and were delayed by 2 hours. We got to Bahnhof pretty late, but I had a nice surprised of being able to see Sister Olsen again! It's crazy how much I have missed her in just a short time. On our way back we took the long way an...
