You two are pretty for Americans
Hallo zusammen!!
This week has been wild with lots that have happened so I'm sorry if this is long!
A lot of people have been asking me how Germany is with the war going on. There are a ton of Ukranian refugees here. We run into so many everyday. It's really sad to see so many people that have to leave their home. Right next to the Bahnhof we also have Tents set up to serve as a meeting place for all of the refugees. It feels like I'm serving on the front lines sometimes. I get to see the affects of the War personally.
On Saturday, we met with a weniger aktiv with the elders. He lives outside of Köln and it was so pretty. There were tons of green fields, groves of trees, and COWS!!! It felt a lot like home except with a lot more green and no sagebrush ahah. During this appointment, the member took us into a forest and it was so pretty. I forgot how much I missed being out in nature and surrounded by trees.
I've also heard that the middle of your mission is the longest and I'm starting to feel that a little bit. Sometimes it takes a lot of effort to Motivate myself for the day. The mission can feel like a grind but I'm trying to enjoy it. What I found out this week is that the best fix for this is to go on a spiritual high. I had one this week. I went on Austausches with sister Nelson in Duisburg. We got on the tram and I had a feeling I should talk to this guy, but we started talking to someone else. The guy I thought I should talk to began to listen. We got to our stop and had to get off. I gave the first guy a card on the way out. But by doing so I was too late and the doors closed. So I was stuck in the tram without a companion in a City I've never be in. I got off on the next stop and ran back to Sister Nelson. We got a call from the Nürnberg Sisters and the Man I gave a card to called and was super interested. He started asking about church and wants to come! It was super cool how I felt the prompting to talk talk him and I followed and the Duisburg sisters found a new friend from it!
We had interviews this week and I love president and Sister Hammon. They're the best and they always make me feel so loved and appreciated. We were in Charge of making lunch so we made Borsch and homeade Baguettes. It was fun and I loved being able to meet the New missionaries in my zone. We did door knocking as a district finding activity and it was terrifying! We didn't see a lot of success but we know what we could do better for next time. There was also a crazy storm that came through and I felt like I was in the Islands. There was a storm alarm going off and we got tons of heavy. There was wind Blowing debris all over and our power went out for a little. It was wild but a fun experience.
That's about it from me. I love you all!!
