This isn't Canada

 Hey hey!!

This week was definitely eventful. It started off with us babysitting cute little kids with bishop while the women had a relief society activity. This mainly consisted of me kicking a soccer ball around or playing catch with bishop while Sister Maughan played with the kids haha.
We both gave talks on Sunday which were absolutely horrid. I pretty much forgot all of my German. I tried not to write it out and just have prompts but it didn't go so well. I love how illiterate I sound when I have to speak German in front of ward members.
Yesterday was wild. We ran into an American and a catholic who wanted a book of Mormon. We met with one of our friends who took us to his house on the way to the park because he had a meeting. We waited on his porch till he was finished but just ended up leaving because we felt weird about it. We had a lesson with Karim which went so well and put him on baptismal date for the 26th of July!! God's really is out here preparing people for us!!
I'll be honest the past couple of days have not been the easiest. I just felt like I haven't been able to feel the spirit that much. Which means not being the most excited about the work, not having the biggest motivation, quick to be annoyed etc. I didn't like this lull that I found myself in. So this week I've been really trying to feel the spirit and know that I'm not out here alone. During one of my studies I found Called to Serve by Elder Holland. It shares a great story about a bishop answering his call to serve and saving someone spiritually. It was a powerful story and taught me that I'm here for a reason. It doesn't matter what I'm giving up to be here because I'm giving people eternal life. Which is the whole reason why missionary work is so great.
The mission is hard sometimes but it does teach us a lot and allows us to grow. I'm very grateful for the mission and I wouldn't want to learn these lessons anywhere else.
Other highlights:
- we sang happy birthday on the side of the road
