A taste of home
Guten Abendschön!
I'll be honest not very much happened this week. Sister Schmale got sick, but don't worry it wasn't corona. But for precaution purposes we still had to cancel all of our appointments. Which was kind of sad because this was the first time we had the whole week planned before Sunday. Let's just say I'm so glad I'm not a covid missionary because I don't know how they did it. I only had to do it for a couple days and I almost went crazy, I can't even imagine having you do it for months.
But we did have a really good lesson/ meet up with one of our referrals. We got a referral from someone in Guatemala. We've been trying to meet with her from about 1 1/2 transfers and we finally were able to! She's super sweet and found the temples really interesting. She's also willing to read the book of Mormon which us so awesome! Sister Schmale is so good at talking to people and she opened her up real quick.
This week has been a bit harder for me to open my mouth. Satan is very good at sending doubts my way, but I remembered dad's advice and followed his example. (Btw dad, that was such a good missionary story, you've always been such a good example to me). There was this older lady sitting down at the park and I started a normal conversation with her. She was very nice and told me how much Germany has changed since she was little. A lot I didn't know so that was interesting to hear. We talked for about 20 minutes and it just felt so good! I know the lord puts people in our path, even when we're feeling low!
We talked about Job this week in come follow me and it surprised me how many people thought God was punishing Job for giving Satan the right to tempt him. For me I've always thought of it as a test, god knew Job was faithful and that anything could be thrown his way. Therefore he allowed Satan to tempt him in order for Job to grow and trust his testimony. It reminds me of the fact that God never gives us something we can't handle. Yes, it might be difficult and uncomfortable but we always are able to overcome it as long as we trust in him.
I had the pleasure of seeing some people from home this week. Shout out to the Simon's for coming and visiting me! I love you guys! I was able to go to dinner with them and it just made my whole week. I was also able to have lunch with sister moon yesterday! For those of you who don't know, serving with someone from home is absolutely a blast!
