Another week in the books
Guten Morgen zusammen
This week was a short one since we have interviews with President tomorrow and zoko on Friday and Saturday. But this zoko is special since we'll have all the youth and JE's (ysa) with us. It's going to be so good! One of our less active youth is coming and we're so excited! So stay tuned for a fire email next week.
This week I was able to meet 2 people from south Africa which was super cool. One was a less active family who moved here about a year and a half we go. We had no clue this family existed so we stopped by. We were a little nervous since One of the members of the relief society told us they might be from Poland and only speak polish... we were really surprised when we got there and found out they were from south Africa so English is their first language. We had a really good meeting with them. The mom is a pathologist and told us all about what she does. She doesn't go to church anymore but she stills believes in everything. They told us we can come back and even told us when their family is home! We're excited to start working with them:)
I also Met a girl from the Philippines and was able to speak the little Tagalog I know to her. No, I didn't tell her that her armpits stink even though I thought about it haha 😉 I love how so many cultures live in Germany. I'm surrounded by hundreds of languages. I've never been surrounded by so many Muslims, Turks, or Persians. I live how diverse Germany is, that it gives me the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people.
This week I've been really trying to focus on talking to people since last week was pretty low. I was trying to talk to everyone we walked past on the street. It was difficult but it was worth it. We met with guy named Emmanuel, from Ethiopia. As we were walking towards him he reminded me of Joseph in Nürnberg that I taught, who also just got baptized a few weeks ago. I just knew that I had to talk to him. He's not going to a church right now and is interested in our message! We exchanged numbers and will be meeting with him sometime this week. It was so awesome and I know that hard work leads to blessings.
We also met with Karim this week and went over the priesthood. We had a member with us teaching and I learned so much about the priesthood that I never knew before. Thank goodness the member was there because I probably would've given him the lesson of the priesthood like a 3 year old. Camillo was able to make contact with his sister again and he notices this change because of our meetings! It's been awesome and I'm so thankful for our friends:) camillo also told us lots about Columbia in our lesson since that's where he's from. So Sister Schmale and I have made a plan to travel there and visit him after our missions and try the "not salty, cookable bananas" haha.
