EHS is the best

 Servus!!

This week has flown by! I can't believe that it's already Thursday again. I've met a ton of amazing people this week. Friedrichsdorf is amazing and I'm happy to be serving here.
This week was mostly spent on the streets talking to people. I have yet to meet any of our friends of the church here so we were on the hunt to find ones who would actually want to meet with us. We've seen some great miracles on the street. We ran into one lady who only speaks Spanish and I've forgotten all of the little Spanish that I knew. But I was able to whip out "soy misionera de la iglesia de jesucristo de los santos de los ultimos dias." Not to worry, we called a Spanish elder and he was able to talk to her about church and the Book of Mormon! We also went out on the street with a member which is always powerful. We talked to this girl from Ukraine who was super nice. We were able to get her number and will be seeing her again!
Sunday was incredible. We are over 2 MASSIVE wards. I legit felt like I was in the states again and received a little reverse culture shock. I completely forgot that when the sacrament is being passed, we are the ones who pass it down the line. The whole time I was trying to figure out how the little deacon was going to get the trays to everyone in the middle of the pews. Usually German wards are not like that. The chairs are usually spaced out pretty well between the rows due to not very many members. It was funny and definitely took me back haha.
We met with a lady who also only speaks Spanish. We had a member there translating thankfully, but meine gute I've never wanted to know Spanish more in my life then this week haha. Dad, looks like I could've used a little more Spanish crash courses haha;) the lesson went really well. She's so interested in the book of Mormon and came to the lesson with questions. She's amazing and we think we can put her on date pretty soon, just so that she can have something to work towards.
I have 2 more crazy stories for you all. This week after one of our daily street contacting hours we wanted to visit one of the members in the area. We tried one but they weren't there and then found this other member who we both felt we should visit. We get there are are let in by a neighbor. They also aren't home but we decide to write a note. After we finished the note and were walking out of the apartment building, the lady was coming up! We were able to talk to her and hear her story. She is such a nice lady, but sadly her husband is controlling and completely against the church. She has to sneak to church and he's already thrown away 2 of her books of Mormon. It's a sad story and she won't leave him but we're trying to find a way to meet with her in the City so we can bring church to her. I think she really needed our support and to be reminded that God still is aware of her.
We visited another inactive family yesterday. We were both nervous because we didn't really know anything about the family other than they haven't been answering us for the longest time. But I found out that the guy went to Elko High School and graduated in 1995! He grew up in spring creek but went to Elko. We spent the next 30 minutes talking about life in elko. He still remembers shane Gilligan, cody krenka, luke sellers, and lowell. It was fun that most of the people he went to school with ended up being my teachers. It was a fun connection to make and it broke the ice for sure. I can yell how much the gospel would help him and his family. Him and his wife were married in the Salt Lake temple but have been inactive for some years. So if anyone back home recognizes the name Flade I would love to know and get your ideas of how we can help them. Also if anyone in the spring creek area wants to give a referral from me to the missionaries there to look up a man with the name flade, thay would be much appreciated. I want to help this family so bad!
I got to go to the temple today and it was so nice. I love the temple and the spirit that I always feel there. There's such a peaceful feeling in the temple and I know that it truly is the house of the lord. There's no other place on earth where I can feel so much love and peace than I do in the temple. The old stake President from Nürnberg who also lived in Feucht is now the temple president and it was so good to see them again:)
If you can't tell, it was a good week. I am as happy as a lark (is that a real English phrase? I can't remember anymore haha). But I love you all and I love being able to serve the lord and help people come unto him 🤍
