4 transfers left?!
Transfer weekkk!!
I'm staying in friedrichsdorf and got a new companion. Her name is Sister Cooley, she loves German, from rexburg, and sings Opera professionally. She was my stl in Köln so I'm excited to work with her. Her German is also amazing so I'm going to be speaking nonstop German with her. She's probably the closest I'll get to having a native companion so I'm going to soak it all up! I'm going to miss Sister Hodgman. We saw a lot of miracles together and it was so fun to grind with her. I learned a ton from her this last transfer and hopefully have grown a bit. In our last week together we made 7 friends and taught 18 lessons. So you already know that she's a Frau!
This past transfer has been my favorite so far! I've never felt so successful and so accomplished at the end of each day. When we give all that we have to the lord and work our hardest day in and day out, no matter the outcome, we feel so much happier. I've noticed that this last transfer. We tried our absolute hardest to grind the streets and the lessons and we saw success. But more importantly, *I* felt successful and that I was fulfilling my missionary purpose. Now I understand why the lord wants us to be diligent and hard working. Although, sometimes it's exhausting and the last thing you want to do is text another person or talk to someone, it feels so good when you do.
This week as we were contacting, a Jehovah witness comes up to me and starts telling me his story of how he came to this religion. I was able to share mine as well. I was surprised by how nice he was and respectful. That usually doesn't happen. Jehovah Witnesses are actually not allowed to proselyte in Germany, in fact they're despised by a lot of people. It makes me very grateful that I can proselyte and have the right to stop random people. It was a pleasant conversation. I think it's important to be kind and respectful to other religions.
Update on Yina and her family!! Thank you all so much for your prayers. We talked more about the law of chastity with her. On Sunday she and her sons fasted to know what to do. She's the cutest mom ever and woke her sons up Sunday morning to tell them that they weren't going to eat. She wants to raised her sons right and involve them. Fasting is always hard and they described that they felt like they were going to throw up, exhausted, hangry, and everything in between haha. But they did it! She also decided to separate from her partner. She's currently looking for an apartment and is sacrificing everything for the lord. Her faith is so strong and she is quite an inspiration to me. I'm so thankful that God gave me this opportunity to teach these people. I will never be able to repay him for this blessed family. My heart is so full! But I still need all of your prayers that she'll be able to find an apartment so she can be baptized next week!!
Here are some Chaos stories for all if you. This past week there was a spider above Sister Hodgman's Desk. So I decided to stand on the rolling chair to kill it. The chair about slid out from under me. Sister Hodgman has to grab my legs to keep me sturdy and I'm dying. I'm laughing so hard and keep missing the spider but we got it! I know it's not as good of a Story as Erin's cockroach but it was funny.
A couple weeks ago we were over at a family from Venezuela. There were so many kids over and we were playing don't Touch the ground with a balloon, soccer, and hoolihoop all at the same time. It was very chaotic. One of the girls Kicks the soccer ball and it skids the table, Hits the bowl of stew and the stew goes everywhere. It splatters up all the Walls and on the TV. It was a mess and the kids immediately ran out. It was so funny and definitely a time I will remember.
