Haus des Herrn
Guten morgen alle!
There's not a whole lot to report from this week. We have zoko and MLC in the next couple of days which is why my pday is today! I'm sorry if this email is boring, I promise the one next week will probably be more exciting.
Sunday was our most exciting day. We had the primary program which is always my favorite. If you think the little kids are cute back home, just wait till you hear them speak German. They were absolutely adorable. It made me really excited to be a mother one day.
Sadly, none of our friends were able to come to church. But surprisingly enough, there was an older woman named Petra who was standing outside of the church after the meeting and the members invited her inside. They gave her a church tour and answered Some questions that she had. She just moved here from Berlin and has been looking for a church. She didn't want to exchange numbers but will be coming back next week! We're excited about her.
Later that night, we were walking to the temple so that we could do our studies there. On the way, we ran into one of our friends named Solomon. He slept in and wasn't able to make it to church. But we stopped and talked and talked to him for a while. Ok to be fair, he talked to us for about 2 hours. He's had a really hard life and told us all about growing up during the war in Syria. He's faced hardships, harder than I can even imagine. But he's a big believer in god and that if he is patient and does the right things then he will be blessed. It definitely wasn't a coincidence that we ran into him. We gave him the time he needed to speak so that next time he will listen to us. It gave us a good idea of where to go next with him and try to teach him about Jesus Christ.
I also had to go to the orthodontist, since part of my permanent retainer came unglued. I was honestly so terrified because I hate the dentist and having to go to a German dentist gave me the heebie jeebies. I don't think I've prayed so rapidly in my head before haha. But I'll be glad to let you all know that they were really nice and I don't have a lisp anymore. One thing I thought was funny from the experience is that the Office was in an apartment building. It was the strangest thing to me, but I guess that's how some things in Europe Work.
I'm so blessed to be serving by a temple. We walk by it everyday and sometimes even go out of our way to walk by it, just to be filled with the peace it brings. Life on the mission and life in general can be crazy but if we focus on God, everything else will work out. There have been many times this week where we've stopped to take 5 minutes to look up at angel Moroni and the good news that he's promising people. Or the Christus statue that we have and remember how much love he has for us. It's through his love that I'm able to conquer all things. I know most of you don't live 10 minutes away from a temple, but I still invite you to take 5 minutes out of your busy schedule to focus on Christ and the hope the brings us. Life will still be chaotic, but you'll have the strength and determination to push through with joy :)
Other than that it's just been a ton of planning, talking to people, reading the book of Mormon every night with Yina's oldest son, helping yina find an apartment, and loving life! I love you all so much and hope you all have a great week! Bis nächste Woche!
