I'll be honest, this week was pretty slow. Everyone in my district got hit hard with a cold. We've all been dead and are trying to recover. Sister Cooley caught it and has been out a lot of the time. We stayed in our apartment for 4 days straight. I'm surprised I didn't go crazy I'll be honest. I was able to pull out a puzzle that we have and I've been doing that in between studies. We've also been listening to lots of Christmas music since they don't celebrate Thanksgiving here so that has also kept my spirits high. We were both pretty upset when she got sick because we were so ready for this week. We made plans about Street contacting, friends, and helping the sisters and then when got his by a truck and the motivation went out the window for a bit haha.
But after we came out of the dungeon we saw a ton of miracles. We had a lesson with a less active who we've been meeting with for a while. We've always wanted her to pray bur she's always been too scared. A member was there as well and she just encourages her and explained the reasons why she should pray and guess what she did! The prayer was so beautiful and really brought the spirit. The member who met with us gave us a referral afterwards as well! Later we ended up joining a session in the temple as well :)
We've had amazing lessons with Asier and Iker. We went over the Restoration and used visual examples to help it make sense for Iker since he's young. We used the pyramid analogy to explain apostasy and why so many churches started popping up. I think he understood and it really made sense for Asier. Iler also said a beautiful prayer in Spanish that a member translated for us and he just asked God to help him know which path to take. We absolute love when our investigators ask questions in their prayers because we know the power impact that it has. We're working on getting Asier to ask questions in his prayers.
Asier is getting really excited about his baptism and asks us every lesson if there's anything new regarding it that we can talk about. He also asked us to go quickly through all the lessons again with him in case we missed a point or if something didn't make sense to him. He's wanting to do everything he can to make sure that he's ready for his baptism. I don't know what I did to deserve such great friends of the church. The lessons we have with them are so powerful and you can just tell that the gospel is something that they want. Its so special to see and it makes me so grateful to be a missionary.
I don't know why the lord had us get sick and had us out of work for a couple of days. But it's made me appreciate the work more. Sometimes god gives us some days, weeks, or even months to allow us to see the beauty found in him and his grace. I love the mission, I love teaching people and sharing my testimony, and I love my savior. I know that he lives and that he loves each and every one of you. So do I, thank you for all that you do!!
