Happy birthday dad 🥳

This week was a little bit of a Rollercoaster. I had to give my farewell talk in the branch due to the fact that we have stake conference, fast and testimony meeting, and general conference. I shared the spiritual defining moments from my mission. If you want the talk I will be happy to send it to you. It was a great opportunity for me to look back on my mission and remember the great experiences that I have had.

We had a great lesson with Ali, he is making so much progress. He knows a lot about Christianity and just soaks everything up. My German grandpa is the one that helps bring him to church and lessons and he always brings so much food for us to eat. This week he made us chocolate milk, cake, and Brötchen with cheese. He also wants Ali to be baptized as soon as possible so that I can be here. But Ali's soul means a lot more to me than being there and helping a baptismal count. I want him to wait until he feels absolutely ready and understands the huge promise he would be making. This member also wants me to baptize all of our friends, plus one before I leave. I think he's a little baptism hungry haha. We love Ali and I know that he will be baptized sometime in the near future. He's so tender and has been asking us which chapters in the BoM he should be reading and just eating everything up.
The adversary has been working on me really hard this past week. It has been a lot harder to find the motivation to talk to people, but it's a blessing that I have such a great comp. I opened up to her about how I was feeling and the battle I was having between my 2 ears. We met with a member before and he shared with us the scripture Proverbs 3:5, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding." I felt like I had been relying more on my own knowledge and ability and forgetting about the lord. She offered that we go door knocking, mind you I despise door knocking because I think it's so scary. It's because of this reason that she recommended it to me. It would cause me to rely on the lord since I have no clue what I'm doing when it comes to door knocking. So that's what we did and I really tried to focus on the spirit and what it was telling me to do. We had some cool experiences. One man wanted a book of Mormon and for us to come back when he wasn't busy. Someone else knew some members of our branch and we had a nice conversation with him. We were out for about an hour to an hour and a half. It felt so good to go out and be diligent with my time, even though I didn't want to on a cold, rainy day.
Those are just some experiences from this week. I know the lord regards us for our efforts and is always looking for a reason to bless us. I love my savior and I know that this is his work. This week I'm going to focus on hitting the adversary back and not listening to the lies he tells me. I love you all and hope you have a great week!!
