Wunder Zeit
This was a quick week so I'm not sure if I'll have a lot to report, buttt! We still had so many miracles.
Ali, who we found a couple weeks ago on the street came to church for the first time this week. I was a bit nervous, because he doesn't speak German and no one in the ward speaks Persian. The ward was so good with him and just welcomed him with open arms. During elders Quorum, they translated the talk into Persian so that he could read along. The lesson ended a bit early and so they had him tell his story. Ali used Google translate and told them about his sad past leaving Iran and Ukraine. He explained how we met and knew that if he would've been on a different side of the street, that we never would've met him. He knows that God led him to us. He texted us after and told us that it was the best day of his life. He loved church and had a feeling that he already knew all of the people there. During sacrament, I passed him the gospel art book. I thought if anyone could talk to him it would be the spirit and I wanted him to feel the spirit during church by looking at the pictures of christ. He told us that he's seen the pictures in a dream before. He is just so amazing and we are so blessed that the lord led us to each other.
Our mission has been pushing Facebook a bit more and so I have been texting random people trying to find anyone that would be interested. We had a phone call with one, who has had a hard time believing in God because of all the sad things that have happened in his life. We taught him a bit of the 2nd lesson and testified to him that all of his family members, who have passed on, are still by him and are waiting for him. He started to cry and we explained more of how much God loves each of his children. It was such a tender lesson and at the end he mentioned that it felt so good to smile again and we helped him find more hope. We're meeting with him again and will be giving him a book of Mormon.
I love this gospel and how much joy and hope it brings to people's lives. A lot of people that we talk to on the street, mention that if there was a good no bad things would happen. I've learned during my time on the mission, that we need to go through hard times in our to realize who God is. If there was no heartache or pain in the world, there would be no reason to believe. I've noticed that it's during my darkest hours, when I feel God's presence the most. He carries me, when I am down and can't go any further. This gospel leads people closer to him and helps them recognize how much peace that he brings.
I love being here, working with these people, and helping them realize how much God loves them. Christ is our savior and he loves each and everyone one of us. They have never abandoned us and they never will. I love you all and hope you recognize more of his hand in your life this week!
